Miami to San Franscisco (18 days) |
Clear skys, 23 degrees and pleasantly humid
Today we board the
Seven Seas Mariner, a 700-passenger ship that will be our home for the next 94
days. We are scheduled to visit 46 ports (I say ‘scheduled’ as there will
inevitably be one or more deviations to the schedule due to weather or other

San Francisco to Singapore (54 days) |
factor) and 21 countries. We could stay on the ship for a total of 131 days and
make our way back to Miami – some
people are doing that, but we’ve visited most
of the ports after Abu Dhabi where we say good bye to the ship, plus, 94 days will
likely be plenty…we have to get back to real life…I’m not really sure what real
life will be for us without full-time jobs, but I’m sure we’ll cope!

Singapore to Abu Dhabi (20 days) |
By the way…many
of our days will be ‘days at sea’ sailing from one port to the next. In fact we
will be at sea for 5 days travelling from San Francisco to Hawaii! These sea
days will mean blog posting will be minimal at best due to the horrific internet
at sea. The internet will be marginal at best on the ship at the best of times,
so while I will make a posting for each and every day we are away, there may be
days when there is no post and then when there will be a few catch up postings.
Once we set sail tonight, we will be sailing until Thursday when we arrive in
Columbia.
