caviar, champagne and a glorious view! |
We are at sea for another day of do as much or as little as we like. Last night we turned the clocks back and gained an hour. I feel like I frequently mention that this is the best or that is the best part of cruising…travelling west for all of this cruise I think has got to be THE best part! Whenever we go to a new time zone, we are gaining rather than loosing time! GLORIOUS!
now onto lunch |
Today Chris joined me to walk the deck and bespoke juice. A Sunday at sea means that breakfast is a champagne and caviar brunch. It wasn’t all that bad! Of course I’ve never met a champagne I didn’t like, but I could take or leave caviar.
The rest of the morning was spent busying ourselves with reading and blogging at the pool. We finally found a coveted pool spot in the shade. It’s still hot and humid, but less so than it would be in sun…I would NEVER last a

We seem to have settled into a bit of an ‘at-sea’ daytime routine… espresso, walk (if we’re feeling ambitious), juice, relax (on the deck or at the pool) reading or blogging,

Our evening routine is a bit less arduous…cocktails in the lounge accompanied by more of the ship’s duo, or other musical lounge act, another cocktail while we wait for our preferred table, dinner, then the show – this may or may not be followed by a stint at the casino. My

The ship’s evening shows have been hit and miss. Currently there is an onboard troop of singers and dancers who we have seen twice –

The highlight of today was a tour of the ship’s galley…I have been dying to tour this part of a ship every time we’re on a cruise, and today was the day. It was pretty much as I expected – we followed the head chef through the galley while he described the inner workings of how we all get fed. One thing that surprised me was how small it was. I was also surprised by how militant they

are about hand washing…I expected that hand washing was important
of course, but what we learned was that waiters wash their hands each and every
time they come into the galley, there is a person whose job it is to monitor
the handwashing!
Another interesting thing we participated in today, was a
meet up of other Canadians onboard. We’ve met a few fellow Canadians, the 45
others of us there are. The ship organized parties for people from all of the
different countries or states depending on how many were from each.
By the way, it has been brought to my attention by my ‘editor’ that I described yesterday’s events as cool a few too many times in the Panama Canal post…well…it was cool!

I like the relaxing on the ship but not sure I could last for more than one day. They offer cleaning or knitting?
