Partly cloudy, 29 degrees
Here we are again…AT SEA. Chris is feeling a bit under the
weather – nothing serious, a bit of a cold, so we were in bed early last night,
but somehow, I was able to sleep late anyway. Was wide awake at 6, but thought
that was CRAZY, so committed to another hour and a half.
Because Chris isn’t feeling great, we took a very
lazy day even by sea day standards. I left the room around 10:30 to try to get a
tour for our turnaround day in Sydney sorted. Our 94-day cruise from Miami to Abu
Dhabi, consists of 5 segments, each of about 18 days. The entire world cruise
is 131 days and consists of 7 (or 8) segments. We pre-booked the vast majority
of our land excursions (tours) months ago; however, between each segment, on the
turnaround days, there are never excursions scheduled prior to boarding. Once
we are on the boat, a handful of excursions for the turnaround days are
offered. In San Francisco the Hop-On/Hop-Off was a turnaround day, in Tahiti
the
tour of the west side of the island was the turnaround day. So, for Sydney we
booked a harbour cruise. We are in Sydney for 3 days total with 2
overnights…this
is pretty rare. Often the turnaround day is an overnight, but 2 overnights are unheard
of in our experience. We have a couple of other things booked in Sydney.

After that I was beat! The rest of the day looked like…coffee
time, gym time, balcony time, lunch time, nap time, cocktail time, dinner time
and show time.
I actually learned about rugby today. The topic of today’s
enrichment lecturer was rugby.

The topic of today’s enrichment lecturer was rugby – something I know (knew) very little about. I think that Terry Bishop, the lecturer, used to play. It’s amazing, how many topics he presents on and how many visuals he has to go along with his lectures. Typically, his lectures are about history – rugby is unusual, but it was very interesting and topical in this region. I wonder if he’ll talk about cricket as we move closer to Australia and India.
Not too many pics today, so I thought I'd include a video of our bathroom. I hope it plays.
Today is the start of Teachers’ Convention. I’m by no means
wishing I was there – that would signal that I’ve really gone off the deep end,
but…I’m thinking of my teacher friends today, wishing they were here…I
think they might like it…everyone in separate rooms though!
